A baby was strapped to my back as one crawled inside the playground. I worked 12 hour days for months sanding and taking wallpaper off, all and with just one child. Ha! It was beginning to make sense, but was far from completed. To complete this task I had planned to invest a significant amount of money and spend time shopping for my dream home. In order to stay in the realm of budgets, I took to going with my boys to estate sales in search of diamonds. Our weekly routine was to spend Thursday-Saturday walking through estate sales and garage sales, buying vintage and modern pieces, and then I would spend on weekdays painting and sanding the driveway. My love for furniture repair began when I saw a style that was similar to this. It didn't matter if the home was decorated. I had a space at the local market and even sold some items there. There were so many pieces I didn't know what to do and I outgrew my space. The house became a venue in which I held open houses, where up to 1000 visitors could see items from my first floor and purchase them. My venture Growing Days began here. My business was booming and my family was growing too. In a way, I had found the perfect balance between being a mum and starting my new business. Growing Days just seemed to be the right fit. It was in 2013 when my lovely daughter Nora joined our 4th child. I loved where my business was going, but I wanted some time off. I decided to slow down and stay at home, spending time with my kids. That was precisely the thing I needed. After a few minutes, my phone began ringing. People were calling me and asking for help with their interior decorating and home remodeling. A majority of them were people who came into my residence during my furniture open houses. It wasn't long before I managed a large-scale home renovation company. The first step was to take clients with a speed I could be confident in. I'm sure you would have made me laugh if I had told you that it would be the foundation of the DIY Network tv series. As I reflect on the situation I am laughing.
