Richard B. Cheney is a distinguished American public servant, businessman, and politician. Cheney, a well-known face on the scene of Washington politics, worked with four presidents from the United States. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush selected Cheney during the summer of 2000 to be his vice-presidential running mate, commenting on Cheney's wisdom and judgment. Dick Cheney is a former chief of staff to presidents, was a member of Congress, and he was the secretary of defense. Republicans and Democrats both respect his integrity. Cheney has said that the role he plays in the administration as that of an honest but professional advisor to Bush. Cheney declared his delight at being nominated for the Republican vice-presidential nod. He stated that he is looking forward working with a person who is able to be a team player with individuals of differing political opinions and who share shared objectives. Richard Bruce Cheney born Jan 30th, 1941 in Lincoln Nebraska, the son Richard Herbert Cheney the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was moved to Casper, Wyoming with his family when he was 13. The father of his was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, directed the soil conservation district located in Casper.
